TANKER 4 PRODUCTION

This page will provide periodic updates on the status of Tanker 4 as it moves through the production process.


 

 


January 23, 2011 Department approves purchase of 2012 International / 4 Guys tanker
January 26, 2011 Contract signed with 4 Guys
June 13, 2011 Notification received that the chassis has been completed at International
and should be delivered to 4 Guys by the end of June
July 14, 2011 Notification received that the chassis has arrived at the 4 Guys plant
August 2, 2011 Photos received of the chassis at the 4 Guys plant

The tank has been wrapped and wiring has been run for the scene lights,
warning lights and marker lights that will be mounted to the tank.
 
 
 
The body and main compartments have been fabricated.
 
 
The pump has been mounted to the frame.
 
 
The vertical exhaust has been removed and replaced with horizontal
exhaust and on-spot snow chains have been installed.

Hard sleeve storage tunnels have been fabricated and assembled.
 
  
The water tank is wrapped and cut-outs can be seen on the rear for the dump valve, tank fills and lighting.

The body has been mounted on the chassis.

Things are continuing to progress nicely. The tank has been mounted as well as several compartment doors.

The tanker is currently being prepped to be painted. The next set of update photos should show the tanker with its white over red color scheme.

The tanker has been painted and dividers/shelving have been placed in some of the compartments.

A lot of work has been completed since last week. The majority of the warning and scene lights have been installed as well as the dump valves and air horns.
Several compartment doors have been installed and work has started on the porta-tank bracket.
